Summary
After being left in a rural village as a girl, Qiao Xi grew up without knowing familial affection. Following her father’s passing and her mother’s remarriage, she is unexpectedly called back to the city twenty years later. Pressured by her mother, she enters a marriage of convenience, taking her stepsister’s place to marry Huo Xingzhou—the Huo family’s overlooked second son, whispered to be bedridden, paralyzed, and unable to have children.
