Summary
Orphaned Layla Llewellyn finds new hope when she joins her uncle, the gardener at the magnificent Arvis estate. Enchanted by the lush forests, she spends her days observing and sketching the local birds, marveling at their growth and beauty. The estate’s owner, Duke Herhardt, also takes an interest in the avian life—but for a far more sinister purpose. He hunts them for sport and delights in tormenting Layla, pushing her to despair. Now she must choose between a life of gilded comfort or the perilous pursuit of freedom.
