Summary
Lacking any real-life romantic experience, Count’s daughter Marianne LeBlanc has a secret talent: writing popular romance novels. A scathing review accusing her work of being clichéd and unrealistic spurs her to seek genuine inspiration. She infiltrates a notoriously scandalous masquerade ball, only to fall victim to a potent aphrodisiac spell. To her horror, the man she nearly compromises is Crown Prince Lucius himself. A frantic kiss transfers the enchantment to him, binding them together. The curse can only be broken gradually through prolonged proximity or instantly through consummation. Forced into an intensely awkward cohabitation, Marianne wonders if this chaotic situation will finally provide the authentic passion her writing has always lacked.
